So yeah... When I was in the bus with a couple of friends, we talked about this *cough* issue.
Some friends are like diamonds, precious and hard to find.
Some friends are like fallen leaves, could be found everywhere.
Hmm... to me... I wouldn't say a good friend is like a diamond.
Diamonds could be very precious and rare; however, to me... they are...
USELESS.

Diamonds are only meant for LOOKING at, for ACCESSORIZING.
Tell me how useful is that eh?
Put there, and do nothing. And you have to spend like a rather big sum of money to buy whatever how many karats of it.
Personally, I think it's really silly.

Also, I'd say LEAVES are WAAAAAAAYYYYY more useful than diamonds. At least they are biodegradeable and something useful to mother earth (you knowk, gives NUTRITION to trees, plants and such).
What's more? IT DOES NOT POLLUTE MOTHER NATURE. It's part of mother nature, actually.

Personally, I couldn't really tell how shall I describe a friend, no matter if the "friend" is a close one, or just a regular say-hi-and-bye friend.
However, I'd describe friendship as a tree.
Yes, TREE. You read correctly alright.
A tree needs basic needs such as water, air, sunlight and nutritions to not only grow, but to grow healthy. However, planting a tree needs a lot of effort, which means you have to put a lot of heart and time to plant a tree, help it to grow stronger and healthier.
Just like friendship, it needs a lot of effort to make it grow, and also to let it grow stronger between human beings.
If one party refuses to contribute, the friendship slowly dies.
It's just like cutting the needs of a tree, it slowly dies away, too.
What's the best part?

Without trees, there'll be no oxygen around... And try imagine if you can survive without oxygen. Well unless you want to carry an oxygen tank around for the rest of your life... Then you lead your own way, lol.
