Finally, I attended prom! ;D
The last time I attended one was waaaaay back in 2006, which I had to say it was awesome!
However, this time's prom was even more awesome because I'm spending it with the right people, at the right time and most of all, rockin' performances throughout the night! Oh oh, the foods were nice, too! Though it's kinda sad I didn't get to taste the desserts! *boo*
So everything started off with an early morning, I couldn't get myself back to sleep at 6.50am.
Go figure.
After all the sweeping and mopping the house, off I headed to the prom's location for rehearsals! Of course, I didn't go there alone. Haha. I had to pick MJ up on the way, too. ;D It's good to have company, no?
The place... well the environment there was pretty good, I had to say. Yet the ballroom was rather small, which was rather surprising to know as during my foundation prom the room and the stage was way bigger. Nonetheless, although it's small, yet it's comfy. ;D Me likey!
Rehearsals went fine, though I had to say it felt kinda awkward to literally perform on stage with what was up in my and MJ's heads! At that moment, I did regret a little with the craziness we came up. LOL. Yet: practice makes perfect!
On our way back my place, I had to pick KM up from her place and then zoomed back to get ourselves dressed. Being girls are really troublesome, I had to say - putting on make up! Thanks to many people's help at a friend's place, all of us managed to look really different from how we originally look. Of course, in a good way! ;D It was rather a havoc in the house as many of the girls were busy helping themselves and each other on their clothes, hair and faces. LOL. WHOA.
Thank God we weren't late for the opening! ;D
Plus, I was really God damn happy (sorry for the awesome language. xD) when I found that out, and most of all there were still plenty indoor parking spaces!! *squeals*
Put on our masks, and my heels (can't drive with them, really) and we literally flew into the ballroom. xD
The opening, was smokin' hawt awesome!
Pity the bunch of dancers as they only have one day to prepare and practice their routines! All of us were busy with our final exams, so it couldn't be helped with that. Even so, their dances were really awesome! VIN YOU LOOKED SMOKIN' HAWT WEI! xD HAHAHAHAHHA. Your facial expression and your moves were still fresh in my mind dude!
Okay I'm lazy to go into every single little details so I'll just pinpoint out the highlights! xD
Love the "Da Lecturer" award, although I had to say it consumed quite an amount of time for that during the prom. LOVE the campaign video by the lecturers, LOVE their love version of campaign too, and most of all I LOVE THE WINNER! xD It was nonetheless, Ms Winnie Cheong! (LOL, I can still remember extremely clearly Oon Yaw yelled: "SANITIZE THE AWARD!" ROLFMAO. And not to mention, Ms Winnie looked gorgeous too!) *does little chicken dance* xD
Oh yea. I forgot. Love Shawn Lee's beatboxing performance too! That really blew me away. Human with talents is really something to be AWED about! ;D
To me, the most awesome event for the night had to be THE STAFF BAND PERFORMANCE. Like... SERIOUSLY. xDDDDDDDDD THAT GOT ME SQUEALING, YELLING AND EVERYTHING A FANGIRL WOULD DO!!! Hey, do your lecturers play the drums, guitar AND sing? MINE DOES! Dr. Albert Liau and Dr. Goh Chee Leong were taking turns from the drums, guitar, and the microphones that night!!! AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT, DR ALBERT SANG ROCK AND HE LITERALLY ROCK!!!!!! xDDDD Do you ever think your lecturer looked so damn cool (and in a way, HAWT)?! I DO! You'll get to understand what I mean if you attended their lectures and then see them put their act on stage. I am so going to grab hold of the videos for the performances!!! xD
Oh... and Dr. Anasu's performance on stage, too! xD *sings* JUST BEAT IT! A tribute to Micheal Jackson! xD I was really happy to see her performance on stage this time round! ;D
Then, I got calls from the prom commitee telling me to get myself and my partner prepared as we're going to be up on stage after a band's performances. LOL. We were like two lost mice as we thought the waiting place was outside the ballroom, located beside it. Apparently the prom's guest stars were in there, and we were going in and out of the room like nobody's business. xD HAHAHAHA. It was kinda embaressing to think of it now but oh well... nevermind. xD
Then I asked around, and realized we had to stand by in the ballroom beside the stage instead! LOL!!!! WE RAN IN THERE. Because the band was already performing and it was going to be our turn very soon! The commitee was calling my phone like crazy. xD HAHAHAH. (But I didn't bring my phone along with me while I was strolling around. LOL.) And... I was nervous. LOL. At that point, my mind was like: "Oh God... I think they're going to laugh at us really hard when we're on the stage!" Then, it answered itself: "Aiyah. Whatever lah! Laugh laugh lah! It's only once in a lifetime where I get to go crazy on stage!"
With all those, me and MJ got ourselves on stage with mic stands without mircrophones. LOL. Apparently we had to borrow them from the Emcees. xD What startled me even more was when I put my mic on the stand, the maintanance boy (yes, BOT. not guy!) just literally grabbed it away from the stand! My face was like O_____O?? (According to KM, she said it was clearly shown in my facial expression that I looked shocked on stage. LOL.) Backstage was like cueing me whether they can start the music already, I was like - *shakes head* *waves hands* *points mic stand* *mouth gestures - NO MICROPHONE* *hand gestures - WAIT* LOL. I guess I must've put on quite a show on stage at that point. =3= Oh. By the way, all these happened when the spot light was on. LOL. GO FIGURE!!
When I got my microphone, I just did some simple (lame) introduction and interaction with the floor. And... when I mentioned: "We're going to sing Gee by SNSD - " Some were like: WHOA. Then I said: " - but but but, we're doing an acoustic version." And instantly my mind was like - *evil laughs*.
Of course, after all those stuff we sang, and yes, we danced to Gee. HAHAHAHHAAHHA. xD The awesomeness of technology and MJ, we decided to have a remix version of Gee, as we ended it with the original version + dance. Say partner MJ, I think we earned a little applause for our cool idea eh? xD *hi5*
OH OH OH OH!!! This is very important to be mentioned. xDDDDDDDDD
While we're like around half way during our performance, Ms Winnie was walking to her table and staring at us. When she sat down (and we're dancing already) she was like smiling and staring at me! LOL!!! I couldn't help but smile wider at that point. xDDDDDD Ms Winnie you gave me energy! HAHAHAHHAHAHA!
The funniest part was... we were told to not to move as we did our ending pose, not until the lights dim. Guess what? THE LIGHTS DID NOT DIM. And the microphones were still on! I was like talking with my smile still plastered on my face to MJ: "Ain't the lights going off?" We literally stoned there for a while. LOL.
Then... We got off the stage in different directions. xD My bad! I was in the need to get away from the light A.S.A.P. Haha. xD I got quite a few compliments along the way from the lecturers! They liked the performance apparently, MJ!!! xD Dr. Anasu and Mr. Kenneth commented to me: "That was very good!" We can RIP already wei! HAHAHAHHAHA. xD
Some performances continued on, yet to my surprise there were quite a few performances did not show and the prom ended. I was like: "EH?!" Apparently, due to time constraint the rest of the performances were cut off. I really think MJ and I were lucky as if I'm not mistaken, we're the last students who performed.
After all those dramas and performances, the prom ends - not without the photo sessions! ;D Of course we "do our thangs" outside the ballroom and took quite a few pictures with our coursemates and all. ;D It was all fun, and memorable!
What's even more memorable?
I had to say... wiping off the layers of make ups.
